How to Price Jobs From Customer Photos (With Worked Examples)

Worked examples of pricing pressure washing, gutter cleaning, window cleaning and junk removal from customer photos, using rulers in the photo, ranges and a simple per-unit price list.

Pricing from photos comes down to two things: measuring honestly and doing the same math every time. Here are worked examples using RayQuote's starting rates. Use your own rates; these are only examples.

Pressure washing: two-car driveway and front walkway

What to ask for: shoot each surface from a corner so the whole thing is in frame: driveway, patio, deck, siding. Include a car, door or garage door. It helps us measure.

  • Concrete / driveway / patio: 620–720 sq ft × $0.20 = $124–$144
  • Minimum charge $150
  • Quote (top of range, rounded up to $5): $150

Gutter cleaning: two-story house, gutters on all sides

What to ask for: take each side of the house from the street or yard so the full roofline shows. Include the downspouts and how many stories.

  • Gutter on 2-story sections: 150–175 ft × $2.25 = $337.50–$393.75
  • Downspouts to flush: 4 each × $10 = $40
  • Quote (top of range, rounded up to $5): $435

Window cleaning: two-story house, about 20 windows

What to ask for: take each side of the house straight on so every window shows. Mention if you want screens and inside glass done too.

  • Windows, first floor: 10–12 windows × $8 = $80–$96
  • Windows, upper floors: 8–10 windows × $12 = $96–$120
  • Quote (top of range, rounded up to $5): $220

Junk removal: garage pile plus a mattress

What to ask for: stand back so the whole pile fits in one photo, then add close-ups of big items (couches, appliances, mattresses). Show where it is: garage, upstairs, yard.

  • Trailer load: 1/4–3/8 trailer load × $550 = $165–$231
  • Mattresses: 1 each × $40 = $40
  • Quote (top of range, rounded up to $5): $275

Rules that keep photo pricing safe

  • Always measure as a range, never a single number.
  • Quote from the top of the range when you're unsure.
  • Set a minimum charge so small jobs still pay.
  • Round up to a clean number ($5 or $10).
  • Flag anything you can't see for a visit instead of guessing.
