This explains what RayQuote collects and why. Short version: we collect what's needed to turn photos into quotes, we don't sell anyone's data, and you can ask us to delete it.

Business owners

When you sign up we store your name, email, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, your business details, your prices, and your plan. Payments are processed by Stripe, which stores your card details; we only keep Stripe's customer and subscription references and your billing status.

Customers who request a quote

When someone sends photos through a business's RayQuote page, we store the photos, their name, phone and/or email, address or town, notes, and the resulting quote. This information is shared only with that business. We keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of the sender's internet address for a short time to stop spam and abuse; we don't store the address itself.

How photos are measured

Photos are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) to estimate sizes and quantities. They are used only to produce the estimate and are not used by RayQuote to train AI models.

Who else processes data

Only the services that run RayQuote: hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), AI measuring (Anthropic) and payments (Stripe). Each processes data only to provide its service. We never sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No ad or tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep data while an account is active. A business can ask us to delete its account and all its quotes and photos, and a customer can ask the business, or us, to delete their request. Email support@rayquote.com.

Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, customer photos are only visible to the business they were sent to, and access to admin tools is password protected.
